Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival Nairobi
Welcome to Nairobi, a thriving young city spawned during the construction of the rail line from the Indian Ocean. Stay at the Stanley Hotel, for a quiet respite in the center of the city. This evening, enjoy an informative presentation about East Africa's National parks, reserves and wildlife given by the Safari Trails Representative. Evening transfer to Kadhi King Restaurant for dinner. Overnight at the Stanley Hotel or similar.
Day 02: Nairobi-Amboseli National Park
Rise early to enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Depart by road to Amboseli National Park. There you will experience your first mid morning game drive in a Park that is famous for its breath-taking views of Kilimanjaro. The Park also shelters more than 420 species of birds. Enormous Elephant population and other big game are attracted to the area by underground springs fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro. Lunch is served at the lodge, have some time to relax before departing for a late evening game drive. Return to the lodge and enjoy a scrumptious dinner. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.
Day 03: Explore Amboseli
Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit; we set off for a game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons. In between the game drive a visit to local Masai village is conducted. Midday finds you at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another game drive. Amboseli is home to the legendary Masai tribesmen. Masai warriors are famous and are proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world. All meals and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.
Day 04: Amboseli-Lake Nakuru Depart
Amboseli making a stopping for lunch in Nairobi. Lake Nakuru National Park is the destination today. Drive through the beautiful central highlands and stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint to see a magnificent view of the valley below. Upon arrival, proceed on a game drive around the lake. Lake Nakuru is famous for having the highest concentration of flamingos in the world and is home to over three hundred bird species. It is a sanctuary for both the Black and White Rhinos. Also found in plenty are zebras, waterbucks, buffaloes and warthogs. Leopards are sometimes seen sleeping on the horizontal branches of the “Fever trees”. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
Day 05: Nakuru
Masai Mara After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve. Travel through the Masai country occasionally coming across Masai herdsmen with their livestock living harmoniously with the wildlife. Lunch at your residence lodge followed by a game drive in these vast rolling grasslands. Masai Mara is famous for the Annual Wildebeest Migration that takes place between the months of July and October. During this time over a million wildebeests accompanied by thousands of other herbivores, migrate from Serengeti to the Mara in search for greener pastures. Hundreds of lions and hyenas follow them picking on the old and weaker ones. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge/Mara Simba Lodge.
Day 06: Masai Mara
Morning and afternoon game drives in this magnificent Park. Drive to the Mara River where thousands of wildebeests cross during the annual migration. The legendary black mane lion is only found in Masai Mara. The cheetah hunts best in these open grasslands. All meals and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge/Mara Simba Lodge.
Day 07: Masai Mara
Nairobi After breakfast, we drive to Nairobi. Rest of the day is at leisure for last minute shopping and sight seeing. In the evening, you will be escorted to the Airport for flight check-in and board your plane that takes you home with a smile and a lifetime of memories.
